Welcome on the CoGiRo project website!

The project CoGiRo, "Control of Giant Robots", deals with cable-driven parallel robots. Its main goal is to propose and validate innovative methodologies and means to design, calibrate and control cable-driven parallel robots having a very large workspace and handling heavy payloads. Four partners are involved in the project: one company, TECNALIA France, and three academic laboratories : Institut Pascal (CNRS - Université Blaise Pascal), LIRMM (CNRS - Université Montpellier 2), and EPI COPRIN (INRIA Sophia Antipolis).

A prototype of overall dimensions 15 m x 11 m x 6 m (length x width x height) and up to 500 kg payload capability has been built. A video of the prototype performing palletization tasks can be found here:

Le projet CoGiRo, "commande des robots géants", porte sur les robots parallèles à câbles ayant un très grand espace de travail et transportant éventuellement de lourdes charges. Le projet compte quatre partenaires dont une entreprise (TECNALIA France) et trois laboratoires (Institut Pascal, LIRMM et EPI COPRIN - INRIA Sophia Antipolis).

Un démonstrateur aux dimensions globales de 15 m x 11 m x 6 m (longueur x largeur x hauteur) et ayant jusqu'à 500 kg de capacité de charge a été construit. Une vidéo de ce démonstrateur effectuant des tâches de palettisations peut être visualisée ici :
